Dr Davinder Kalsi

Dentist

Places dental implants, All-on-4 full arches and implant dentures at Lanark, and is one of our two Invisalign dentists.

Dav holds a degree in engineering as well as his dental degree and a master's in dental implants, and the engineering side still shows in how he works: he measures first and settles every detail of an implant plan before treatment starts. Over more than a decade he has placed upwards of 2,000 implants, and at Lanark he provides single implants, All-on-4 full arches and implant-retained dentures.

Each implant case begins on the practice's own CT scanner. Dav works out the implant position digitally. For single implants, and on the Premium Guided Zirconia full-arch pathway, a surgical guide is 3D-printed from that plan and the MegaGen AnyRidge implants go in through it with MegaGen R2 guided surgery. He also provides Invisalign alongside Dr Melanie Gray, planning each case from an iTero scan.

Dr Melanie Gray graduated with commendation from the University of Glasgow in 2007 and has been caring for patients ever since. After owning and running her own family dental practice for 12 years, she now works in her hometown, looking after patients in the community she knows so well.

Melanie has always believed that dentistry is about much more than teeth. Making patients feel comfortable, relaxed and cared for sits at the heart of how she works, and in 2018 her practice was named Scottish Practice of the Year for Patient Care.

She enjoys every part of dentistry, from everyday general care to cosmetic treatment, smile makeovers and Invisalign. She takes time to understand what each patient would like to achieve, always aiming for results that look natural. Most recently she completed a year-long postgraduate diploma in Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Dentistry with Fresh Dental in London, which focuses on natural-looking results while keeping as much healthy tooth as possible.

Melanie is also an advanced medical aesthetics practitioner and teaches facial aesthetics to other healthcare professionals. Whether you are coming in for a routine dental examination or a bigger change to your smile, she gives honest advice, listens, and makes sure you feel at ease.

Dr Batuhan Akça

Dentist

BDS (Istanbul Medipol)

General dentistry with clear advice, treatment options explained and support in looking after your oral health.

Batuhan graduated from Istanbul Medipol University in 2023 and began his career working as a dentist in Istanbul. He now works as a general dentist at Lanark Smile Studios.

He enjoys the variety that comes with general dentistry, from routine dental examinations and fillings to helping patients manage dental problems and maintain their oral health. He believes that good dentistry starts with understanding each patient, explaining things clearly and taking the time to discuss the available options.

Batuhan takes a practical and thoughtful approach to treatment. He wants patients to feel involved in decisions about their dental care and to understand why a particular treatment may be recommended.

Provides NHS and private general dentistry at Lanark, including dental examinations, white fillings and extractions.

Ioannis is one of the dentists at Lanark Smile Studios, looking after NHS and private patients of all ages. He carries out dental examinations, tooth-coloured fillings, extractions and the everyday treatment that keeps teeth healthy.
