Invisalign
Whitening
Bonding

At Lanark Smile Studios, a smile makeover brings together the treatments you need, whether that is Invisalign, whitening, bonding, veneers or implants, under a single written plan. Many begin with whitening and six bonded teeth for £2,350. The on-screen design and the trial in your mouth are included.

Brings crowded, turned or gappy teeth into line, which can make later work thinner or unnecessary.
Brightens your natural enamel first, so bonding or porcelain can then be matched to the new shade.
Restores chipped or worn edges and fills small gaps, normally with no drilling.
A long-term change of shade and form, and a good option for teeth carrying large old fillings.
Strengthen broken-down or root-filled teeth and are made in the new colour.
Replace missing teeth. Planning starts with a scan on our own CT scanner, so the gap is part of the design from day one.
Why order matters. Straightening comes first, as well-aligned teeth need less material. Whitening is next, because composite and porcelain keep the shade they are made in and won't lighten later. Reshaping is the final step.
Each of these patients needed a different blend of treatment, from veneers alone to rebuilding the whole mouth. All were treated by dentists in our practice group. Move the slider on any picture to see the change.

A plan with only whitening and bonding can be finished within weeks. Aligners add a number of months, and implants must bond with the bone before the permanent teeth are fitted.

How we design a smile
Natural-looking smiles don't happen by chance; they come from careful planning. The length and shape of each tooth, the way your teeth sit against your lips and how they relate to the rest of your face all play a part in how a smile looks.
In Lanark we use digital smile design together with a detailed grounding in dental aesthetics and facial proportion. That lets us try out changes with you, explain in plain terms why we recommend them, and agree a considered plan before any treatment starts.

Starting pointDigital previewA digital preview, not a result.
These are AI-generated images showing the proposed design on this patient's face. They illustrate the plan and are not photographs of finished treatment.
Putting into words exactly what you'd change about your smile isn't easy. Picturing the outcome from a conversation alone can be harder still.
So we build a digital preview of the proposed changes on your own photographs. You can see how different tooth shapes and proportions could look on your face, tell us what you prefer and help us fine-tune the design.
You might want worn edges restored, a better balance, or a more noticeable change. Having the options in front of you makes that conversation much easier.
About previews. A digital preview offers a visual impression of the changes we're proposing. How your smile finally turns out rests on your own clinical circumstances and the treatment plan you agree with your dentist.

The plan for this case, with the proposed outlines drawn over his existing teeth.
We judge your smile as part of your whole face rather than on its own. These are the points our planning weighs up, and what you want shapes every one of them.
How your smile sits in relation to your own features.
The balance between length and width, and how each tooth suits the ones beside it.
Whether the edges of your teeth follow the curve your lips make as you smile.
The way your gums frame each tooth.
Small variations in shape, surface texture and translucency, which give real teeth their individuality.
Some people hope for a brighter, more defined smile; others would rather have a subtle change that still feels like theirs. The design helps us find what feels right for you.

Checking the design against his full-face photograph before treatment.
Digital design is only as useful as the judgement behind it.
Three things feed into it: what you're hoping for, what we find when we check your gums and teeth, and the established principles of smile design. Appearance matters, but so do your bite, your dental health and which treatment is appropriate for you. Together those guide our recommendations, and every proposed change should have a clear purpose within a plan built for your needs.
Once a design is agreed, you and the dental team are working from one shared reference. It helps us pass the intended shapes and proportions on to the technicians who make your restorations, and keeps the whole of your treatment pointed at the same goal.
Settling these details early supports a more predictable approach. It also leaves you time to ask questions, understand your options and feel at ease with the direction before you go ahead.
How a smile design case usually unfolds at Lanark. Many people need only some of these stages, and the order follows your oral health, your needs and the plan you agree.

First we listen to what you dislike about your smile, the changes you have in mind and anything you'd rather keep. Then we check your oral health, alignment, bite and tooth colour, and study your facial features, proportions and lips to see how your smile fits your face.

Depending on your needs, that can mean photographs, 3D digital scans and, where clinically appropriate, X-rays. They record your starting point, inform the plan and let us show you what we see as we explain our findings.

We talk through the treatments that could meet your goals, with their benefits, risks and alternatives, including no treatment where that's appropriate. You receive a personalised treatment plan with an estimate of cost, how long it is likely to take, the appointments involved and the ongoing care needed, and there is time for questions before you decide.

Where appropriate, digital smile design lets us explore the proposed changes before treatment, guided by your facial features, lip shape, tooth proportions and preferences. The preview gives you something to respond to and our clinicians and technicians a shared reference. It may be refined as treatment goes on, and it shows the intended direction rather than a guaranteed result.

Gum disease, decay or any other oral health concern is treated before cosmetic or restorative work begins, because healthy teeth and gums are the base for everything else. We'll also talk about keeping them that way during treatment and afterwards.

Should your teeth or bite need to move, we fit that stage into the wider sequence: aligners such as Invisalign suit some patients, while others skip this step entirely. Planning alignment alongside the design shows where the teeth should sit before any restorations are made.

We review the shade of your teeth and discuss whitening where appropriate. Restorations might be composite bonding, veneers or crowns, and missing teeth may be replaced with implants or bridges. The design guides their shape and proportions and our brief to the dental technician. Where it suits, you can try the changes as a mock-up or in temporary restorations before the final work is completed.
Which parts of your smile would you like to change, and which are you happy with? We'll take a careful look, explain the choices open to you and give you a realistic sense of what could be achieved.
Your makeover price is the sum of its treatments. Below are the fees that appear in plans, and your total is confirmed in writing before anything starts. 2
| Treatment | Price |
|---|---|
| Whitening by itself | £350 |
| Six bonded teeth plus whitening | £2,350 |
| Ten bonded teeth plus whitening | £3,950 |
| Porcelain veneers | From £695 each, or from £4,170 for six |
| Invisalign | From £3,250, including retainers and whitening |
| One implant with crown | From £2,775; bone grafting is extra if needed |
| Smile design and trial | Included in a plan (otherwise from £250 and £250) |
Payment is due as treatment progresses, rather than for the whole makeover at the start. Every other fee is on our fee list.
There is no charge. We ask for a £20 deposit to hold the slot and return it within 7 days of your visit. Your dentist takes records, listens to what you'd like to change and tells you plainly if something simpler would work.
It makes sense if there are at least two things you'd change about your smile. When there is just one, a single treatment normally does the job.
Straightened with aligners and then whitened, improving both position and colour.
Length restored with bonding or porcelain, protected afterwards by a night guard.
Spaces filled and edges levelled within one overall design.
Ageing crowns, fillings or veneers renewed in your new shade.
Implants designed together with the cosmetic treatment rather than added later.
Tooth lengths and widths adjusted to suit your lips and face.
