Porcelain Veneers in Lanark: Wear the Design First
At Lanark Smile Studios, a porcelain veneer costs from £695 per tooth. A veneer is a fine shell of ceramic fixed over the front surface of a tooth, altering its shade, outline or length. Before any tooth is prepared, you try the design in your mouth and only go ahead once you're happy with it.
Six porcelain veneers cost from £4,170, and your exact fee is set in writing before you start. The smile design and trial are included at no extra cost. There is no charge for the consultation itself; we take a £20 deposit when you book and pay it back within 7 days of your visit.

Where Lanarkshire practices do publish a porcelain veneer fee, it usually falls somewhere around £400 to £645, and most don't say if the design, temporaries or a follow-up are covered. Whitening the neighbouring teeth beforehand costs £350. Fees last reviewed October 2026.
What Veneers Can Fix
Veneers change the front-facing appearance of teeth but don't reposition them. If your bite is crooked, straightening it before any preparation is normally the better route.
Stubborn Discolouration
Staining too deep for whitening to lift, or a single tooth that turned grey after an injury years ago.
Worn-Down Edges
Front teeth that grinding has made shorter over time, or corners that have chipped.
Gaps
Narrow spaces between the top front teeth, closed without orthodontics.
Uneven Sizes
Small, peg-like lateral incisors, or teeth that seem short or undersized for your face.
Slight Irregularity
Small rotations and steps can be masked. Larger ones are aligned first.
Old Dental Work
Discoloured bonding or ageing veneers replaced with a new design.

How Veneers Are Made
From the design appointment to fitting day usually takes three to four weeks.
The laboratory needs most of that time, because every veneer is handmade. It can't be done in a day.
Photos, Scan and Design
Your dentist captures your smile on camera and video and takes a 3D scan with our iTero scanner. The new teeth are then planned over images of your face.
Trial Smile
A temporary resin copy of the design is placed over your teeth. Chat, smile, take photos and let us know anything you'd change.
Preparation
Following the approved design, a very thin layer of enamel comes off, normally well under a millimetre. Temporary veneers go on before you leave.
Fitting and Follow-Up
We check every veneer for shade and fit, then bond and polish it. A later visit confirms your bite is comfortable.
Porcelain or Composite?
Either can look natural. Where they differ is lifespan, how much of the tooth is affected, and price.

Colour and Form
Nothing is chosen from a brochure. Your dentist designs from your own photographs, so the new teeth are built around your features.
How Many?
That depends on how many teeth are visible when you smile. Most people show six to ten teeth on the top row, so veneer cases usually fall in that range.
Sometimes one or two is enough, such as when a single tooth has darkened. Making one veneer blend with natural teeth either side is demanding work, so whitening those neighbours first often helps.
Your design shows each tooth we'd change, and the written plan prices every one of them before treatment starts.
