New Patients in Lanark: How to Join the Practice
Joining Lanark Smile Studios starts with a new patient examination (often called a check-up), which you can book online. It's £70, X-rays included, at 72 High Street in Lanark. We're taking new NHS patients right now, adults and children alike, as well as private patients.
Your First Appointment
Your examination will usually be with Dr Akça, Dr Flessas or Dr Gray, and the same dentist can carry on looking after your routine care afterwards.

Your Medical History
Before you come, we normally text you a link to a medical history form. It covers your medicines, any allergies and conditions like diabetes, since each of these can change how we care for your teeth.
Chat, Then Examination
First we ask what's been bothering you, whether that's a tender area, a chipped tooth or bleeding gums. Next we examine each tooth, your gums, how your teeth meet and the soft tissues of your mouth, which is where early signs of mouth cancer are found. X-rays reveal decay hiding between teeth where it can't be seen.
Your Written Plan
Should you need any treatment, we put it in writing, priced line by line and in the order we'd suggest doing it. We won't start anything that day unless you'd like us to.
What to Bring
Bringing these along helps your first appointment run smoothly.
NHS, Private or a Mix
We're taking on new NHS patients, adults and children, as well as private patients.
NHS Care
We're registering new NHS patients now, both adults and children. NHS dental examinations in Scotland are free whatever your age, and NHS treatment costs nothing if you're under 26. Most adults over that age pay 80% of the NHS charge, with £384 the most you'll pay for one course of treatment. To register for NHS care, request a call back.

Feeling Nervous?
Lots of people have stayed away from the dentist for years, so you're far from alone. Mention it when you book, and your first visit can simply be a conversation and a gentle look, with no treatment until you feel ready. IV sedation is available for treatment too.
Support for nervous patientsFamily Bookings
We can book everyone's appointments back to back, so the whole family is seen in one trip into Lanark. Bring babies along as soon as their first tooth appears. It saves time if you're travelling in from Carluke, Carstairs or Lesmahagow.
