Second Opinions in Lanark: Any Plan or Quote, Looked at Free
Been given a treatment plan or a quote and want another view? At our Lanark practice we'll look at it for free, whoever wrote it, whether here in Scotland or abroad. Bring the plan, any X-rays, or just yourself. We'll tell you honestly what we would recommend, how much it would be, and whether you need treatment in the first place.
It's free, though we take a £20 deposit and refund it within 7 days of the appointment. If only a CT scan can settle the question, the scan is £160. There's no commitment, and nobody will suggest you leave your own dentist.
Why People Come to Us
Most requests fall into one of the situations below.
A Quote That Looks Too High, or Too Low
Plans for implants, All-on-4, veneers or Invisalign from another practice, and whether both the treatment and its cost add up.
Treatment Done Overseas
Implants, crowns or veneers placed in Turkey or another country that hurt, move or don't match what you were promised. We find out what you have and what's worth keeping.
"Implants Aren't Possible for You"
Not enough bone, past gum disease, diabetes or your age. Many such obstacles can be planned for, and our CT scanner reveals the true situation.
Treatment That Still Isn't Right
A crown that's felt wrong since day one, bonding with recurring chips, a tender implant. The answer can be a minor tweak or something bigger.
A Diagnosis You Want Confirmed
Someone has recommended root canal treatment, taking a tooth out or gum surgery, and you want certainty before you agree to it.
Could Something Less Invasive Work?
You've been quoted for veneers and wonder whether Invisalign, whitening or bonding could achieve the look while saving more natural tooth.
What to Bring
Turning up empty-handed is fine. Any of the following simply makes our answer more precise.
On the Day
Tell Us What's Happened
What you've been offered, what's worrying you about it, and what you'd like to end up with.
A Full Examination
Your dentist checks teeth, gums and the way they bite together, with photos and, where needed, X-rays. If bone or implants are the issue, a CT scan (£160) is added.
A Straight Answer
Do we agree with what's been proposed? We'll tell you, along with anything we'd change, why, and our fee. If the first plan is a good one, we'll say so.
Your Plan in Writing, If Wanted
Your options, each with a price and an approximate timeline, to take home. There's nothing to decide on the day.
Our Promises
There's no point in an opinion that isn't candid. We'll never criticise another dentist to gain your custom; we'll simply explain what we see and what we'd recommend. Where returning to the practice that started your treatment makes more sense, we'll say so. Where the sensible choice is to wait and keep an eye on things, we'll say that too.
The dentist you see is the one who would do the treatment. For implants and All-on-4 that's Dr Kalsi, and for Invisalign it's Dr Kalsi or Dr Gray. For veneers, bonding, root canal treatment, crowns and extractions, you'll see one of our dentists. Every one of our fees is on the website, ready to compare with any quote you've had.
Implant plans are where a second look often helps most, especially if you're holding two or three quotes that disagree. Whether you're in Lanark itself or travelling from Carluke, Biggar or Lesmahagow, you're welcome to bring them in.
