Dentures in Lanark: Dentures Built Around Your Mouth
A small partial denture in Lanark starts at £565, and a complete set at £695. It usually takes three to five appointments over a few weeks. 1 A dental lab builds yours from impressions and records we take, and we fine-tune it in the chair until it sits comfortably.
An immediate denture is £495, and chrome partials start at £1,200. Anyone on our dental plans saves 10%. 1 We make NHS dentures here as well. We're taking on new NHS patients, adults and children, as well as private patients.
Denture Types
The right one comes down to the teeth you still have, where the spaces sit and what you'd like to spend.
Complete Denture
Replaces all the teeth in one jaw. You see them set up in wax first, so shape, colour and smile can be judged before it's finished.
Acrylic Partial
Replacement teeth fixed to a gum-coloured plastic plate. It's made fairly quickly, can take an extra tooth if you lose another, and costs least when several spaces need filling.
Cobalt Chrome Partial
The teeth sit on a slim metal framework. It takes up less of the roof of your mouth, weighs less and holds more securely than an acrylic plate, at a higher fee.
Immediate Denture
Prepared before your extractions and put in straight afterwards, so you never leave with a visible space. Gums shrink as they heal over the next months, so expect it to need a reline.
Denture on Implants
Fastens on to two or more implants, which is how most people solve a lower denture that lifts when they eat or talk. Find out more
Mending and Relining
We fix cracks, add a tooth when you lose one of your own, and reline the inside so it follows gums that have changed shape.
How Long It Takes
Allow roughly three to six weeks between your first appointment and the day it's fitted.
Assessment
Your dentist examines your gums, remaining teeth and how your jaws close, and asks what you want the new denture to do better. Bring your current one if you have it.
Impressions and Tooth Choice
We record impressions for the laboratory, and you pick the colour and style of the teeth together with us.
Trying It in Wax
For complete and bigger partial dentures, the teeth come back from the lab mounted in wax. Check them in a mirror, talk with them in, and ask for changes while they're still simple.
Fitting and Follow-Up
Your finished denture is fitted, and a review a week or two later lets us smooth away anything that rubs.
Settling In
A new denture feels big at first. Gradually your cheeks and tongue learn to keep it steady, and within about a month most wearers barely notice it.
Is a Denture Enough?
A carefully made denture works perfectly well for lots of people. When it doesn't, implants can either anchor it firmly or replace it with teeth that stay in. Dr Kalsi looks at implant options using a CT scan taken in the practice.

Why the Fit Changes
After teeth come out, the bony ridge and gum beneath a denture gradually shrink, most quickly over the first few months. Your denture doesn't change shape with them, so eventually it starts to rock or rub.
Relining it in the chair (£110) builds up the inner surface so it grips your gums snugly again. Plan on replacing a denture roughly every five to ten years too: its teeth gradually flatten, the bite closes, and that can age the face.
If you lose a further natural tooth, we can normally add one to an acrylic partial (£105) instead of starting again.

What It Costs
The fee is confirmed in your written plan before the lab starts, and dental plan members get 10% off. Last reviewed October 2026. 1
Registered NHS patients pay the standard NHS charges for dentures, capped at £384 per course of treatment unless you're exempt. Going private widens the choice of materials and tooth designs.
