Private Fees in Lanark
Our published private fees, from examinations and hygiene through everyday repairs to cosmetic work and implants, how they sit against other Lanarkshire prices, and when a plan is worth it.
How Much Is a Private Dentist in Lanark?
At Lanark Smile Studios, a private new patient examination is £70 with the X-rays you need, and half an hour with the hygienist is £70, or £100 with Airflow. Around Lanark, the practices that publish private fees list a new patient exam at roughly £45 to £65 and a hygiene visit at about £39 to £79. Our dental plans, from £24.10 a month, take care of examinations, X-rays and hygiene, and you'll have each treatment fee in writing before we begin.
Examinations and Hygiene
| Visit | Standard fee | With a plan |
|---|---|---|
| New patient examination, with any X-rays needed | £70 | Covered |
| Routine examination for an existing patient | £70 | Covered |
| Private examination for a child | £38 | Covered |
| One small X-ray | £10 | Covered |
| 30 minutes with the hygienist | £70, or £100 including Airflow | Covered, Airflow included |
| Deep clean lasting an hour | £130 | £117 |
| Same-day emergency visit | £85 | No charge |
Everyone starts with a new patient examination. One of our dentists looks at your teeth, gums, bite and the soft tissues inside your mouth, takes whatever X-rays are needed, and then gives you a written summary of your options with a fee beside each. 1 Hygiene appointments are with our hygienist, Fiona Dyer. Airflow uses a stream of warm water, air and very fine powder to lift plaque and stains, and it's gentler on teeth than a gritty polishing paste.
How We Compare with Other Lanarkshire Prices
Search online for private dental fees in Lanark, Biggar or Lesmahagow and there's very little to compare. Widen it to Lanarkshire as a whole and some practices do list prices. Among those, in autumn 2026, we found:
| Appointment | Range across Lanarkshire | Our fee |
|---|---|---|
| New patient examination | Roughly £45 to £65 | £70, with X-rays |
| Hygienist visit | Roughly £39 to £79 | £70, or £100 including Airflow |
| Monthly dental plan | Roughly £19.50 to £28 | £24.10 or £40.16 |
Our examination fee sits just above that range and our hygiene fee within it, and we'd sooner say so up front. The prices don't always measure the same thing, though. A cheaper examination may not include X-rays, a cheaper hygiene visit may be shorter, and plans differ widely in what they give you. Every hygiene visit on our plans includes Airflow. Whoever you're comparing, ask exactly what the price covers.

Fillings, Crowns and Root Canal Work
| Treatment | Front tooth | Back tooth |
|---|---|---|
| White filling, one surface | £105 | £118 |
| Ceramic crown, starting at | £750 | £675 |
| Root canal treatment | £450 | Premolar £525; molar £595 |
| Ceramic onlay, which covers part of the tooth | £750 | |
| Removing a tooth | Straightforward £125; wisdom or surgical £450 | |
The more surfaces a filling covers, the more it costs, so a small one is cheaper than a large one; the fees page lists every size. Root canal work on a molar costs more than on a front tooth because a molar has more canals to locate and clean. Back teeth become brittle after a root filling, so we usually advise protecting them with an onlay or crown, which is priced separately. Crowns and onlays are designed from an iTero scan, so there's no putty. Plan members get 10% off all of the treatments above.
Invisalign and Cosmetic Treatment
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Invisalign Lite, the shortest course | £3,250 |
| Invisalign Comprehensive, for full correction | £4,250 |
| Composite bonding, per tooth | £395 |
| Bonding package with whitening, 4 or 10 teeth | £1,550 or £3,950 |
| Porcelain veneer, per tooth, starting at | £695 |
| Boutique home whitening, custom trays included | £350 |
Invisalign is provided by Dr Kalsi or Dr Gray, and bonding and veneers are planned and carried out by your dentist. Invisalign fees cover refinements, Vivera retainers and whitening. Bonding packages of four or more teeth include whitening too, so the package figure is the full cost. There's no charge to consult us about bonding, veneers, Invisalign or a smile makeover; a £20 deposit holds your slot and is refunded within 7 days of the appointment (Invisalign consultations need no deposit). The member discount doesn't cover implants, Invisalign, bonding or veneers, although whitening by itself drops to £315 on a plan.
Dental Implants
| Treatment | Fee |
|---|---|
| Single implant, crown included | From £2,775 |
| Full arch of fixed teeth on implants | From £9,300 per arch |
| Implant-retained denture that clips in | From £8,500 per arch |
| Planning CT scan | £160 |
| Bone graft where bone is thin | £535 to £998 |
| IV sedation, per visit | £500 |
Dr Kalsi plans each implant on a CT scan from the scanner in our building, then places MegaGen AnyRidge implants using MegaGen R2 guided surgery, so a 3D-printed guide made from the plan controls where each one goes. For a single tooth, the fee takes in the implant, the abutment that joins it to the crown, the crown itself and your review appointments, with a 5-year guarantee for non-smokers who attend hygiene visits every 3 months. Grafting, extractions and sedation are added only where you need them. The full-arch prices that come up online for Lanarkshire are mostly from city clinics, at roughly £12,000 to £22,000 an arch. Our implant cost guide breaks the figures down.
What Makes One Fee Higher Than Another
- Time in the chair. An hour-long deep clean costs more than a half-hour visit, and root canal work on a molar takes longer than on a front tooth.
- The lab. A technician makes crowns, onlays and veneers from a digital scan, and that lab bill doesn't apply to a filling.
- How it's counted. Fillings are priced by surface, bonding by tooth and full-arch implants by arch.
- Equipment and training. An on-site CT scanner, guided implant surgery and digital scanning all cost money to run, as does learning to use them well.
All the fees on this page are guide prices from our current list. 1 What you pay depends on what we find, so it goes into a written plan before treatment, and once you've agreed it, it stays fixed. If anything unexpected crops up partway through, we pause and discuss it with you first.
A Plan, or Pay as You Go?
For anyone coming twice a year, a plan normally costs less. Plan A, at £24.10 a month, covers your examinations, small X-rays and two Airflow hygiene visits for the year, worth £360 at standard fees, so you save £70.80. Plan B, at £40.16 a month, gives you four hygiene visits instead of two, worth £560 and saving £78.08, and is the better fit for gum problems or implants.
Members on either plan get free emergency appointments, priority booking, emergency dental cover abroad and 10% off most private treatment (implants, orthodontics and larger cosmetic cases excepted). If you only come once a year, paying per visit usually works out cheaper; our membership guide runs the numbers for both.
The NHS Option
You don't have to go private. We're taking on new NHS patients, adults and children, as well as private patients. Nobody in Scotland pays for an NHS examination, under-26s pay nothing for treatment, and other adults pay 80% of the national fee, capped at £384 per course. Whitening, bonding, veneers, Invisalign and implants are private everywhere, so many people keep their examinations on the NHS and go private for a single treatment. The NHS or private guide explains how that works.
Paying for Larger Treatment
Whatever the size of the job, from a crown to a full arch of implants, you'll have a written plan with a fixed fee before treatment starts, and payment is due as treatment progresses. Plan members get 10% off fillings, crowns, root canal work and most other private treatment; implants, Invisalign, bonding and veneers are the exceptions. New patient examinations can be booked online whenever suits you. Opening hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm, and Friday, 9am to 5pm. Closed at weekends.
Questions
This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
