Veneer Prices in Lanark
Fees for a single tooth, totals for a whole smile and the questions worth asking before you sign, written for patients across Lanark and Clydesdale.
How Much Are Veneers in Lanark?
At Lanark Smile Studios on the High Street, a porcelain veneer starts at £695 and a composite veneer costs £395. For several teeth, composite comes in packages with whitening built in, running from £1,550 for four teeth to £3,950 for ten. Most full smiles involve six to ten teeth. The smile design and trial smile carry no separate charge, and after a free consultation you're given a fixed fee in writing.
One Tooth, Two Materials
A composite veneer costs £395 a tooth. Your dentist builds it up by hand on the tooth itself, normally across one or two visits and often with no injection, and it usually needs refreshing every three to five years. Porcelain starts at £695 a tooth. A dental laboratory makes each veneer from a digital scan, a thin layer of enamel is usually shaped first to make room, and porcelain commonly lasts 10 to 15 years. 1
The word "from" describes a straightforward tooth. Where an old filling has to be replaced, or a tooth is dark enough to need extra masking, the fee can be higher, and your plan prices each tooth separately before any work begins. Our guide to porcelain or composite veneers weighs the two materials in depth.
Adding Up a Full Smile
| Teeth treated | Composite package | Porcelain, starting at |
|---|---|---|
| 4 | £1,550 | £2,780 |
| 6 | £2,350 | £4,170 |
| 8 | £3,150 | £5,560 |
| 10 | £3,950 | £6,950 |
Home whitening is part of every composite package, and once the bonding has settled you return for a dental examination and a polish. In the porcelain column, the starting fee has simply been multiplied by the number of teeth. 1 To estimate your own number, give a wide smile in the mirror and count the upper teeth on show. A narrow smile often needs six; a broad one can need ten.

Veneer Prices Around Clydesdale
Look up veneer prices from Lanark, Biggar or Lesmahagow and you'll find very few local figures to go on, which is why ours are set out on this page. Where practices in the wider Lanarkshire area do publish a fee, porcelain tends to be advertised at about £400 to £645 a tooth. Take Scotland as a whole and the spread is broader, at roughly £300 to £765.
Headline figures seldom compare like with like. One quote may not name the porcelain, another may be for a set rather than a single tooth, and few say whether design, temporaries and a review are covered. Ours, from £695, takes in a digital smile design, a trial smile worn before any tooth is touched, temporaries, the fitting and a follow-up review. If you already hold another quote, check what each one pays for, not only the total.
Trips to the High Street
Porcelain means three appointments at 72 High Street, plus a short review. Composite usually needs one or two. If you're coming from Carluke, about 5 miles north-west, or Biggar, about 12 miles east beyond Tinto Hill, weigh the number of trips alongside the price.
Want the new smile in place for Lanimer Day in June? Porcelain takes three to four weeks from design to fitting, and whitening first adds a few more, so an early spring consultation leaves comfortable room.
What the Fee Covers
- A free consultation, with the £20 deposit that secures it refunded within seven days of you attending
- Photographs, video and a 3D scan on our iTero scanner, with no putty impressions
- A digital smile design and a trial smile, so you judge the result first
- Temporary veneers to wear between the preparation and fitting visits
- The fitting, bite adjustments, a final polish and a review appointment
- A written plan whose fixed fee stays the same once treatment is under way
Whitening is already part of every composite package. If you're choosing porcelain and want lighter teeth first, home whitening costs £350, and if you grind, a night guard is £210. 1
What Moves the Total
- How many teeth. Fees are charged per tooth, so the gap between six and ten is the biggest swing.
- Which material. Porcelain costs more on the day and lasts longer before it needs replacing.
- Repairs first. Decay, gum trouble or failing fillings on the front teeth are dealt with beforehand and priced on their own.
- Crooked teeth. Invisalign first adds time and cost, yet it can mean fewer veneers, or thinner ones.
- Very dark teeth. Heavy discolouration takes more masking, which can raise the fee and tip the choice towards porcelain.
A quote far below everyone else's may hide a cheaper material, a missing trial smile or extras added later, so find out what's included before you compare totals.
Cost per Year, Not Cost on the Day
Divide each price by the years the material tends to last and the gap narrows. Porcelain is dearer at the start but often runs 10 to 15 years before replacement, holding its colour and shine for most of that time. Composite is cheaper to begin with, though across the same stretch you'd expect several polishes and refreshes, and possibly one complete redo.
For someone in their twenties or thirties who wants one smile for many years, porcelain therefore often costs about the same over time. If keeping as much of your own tooth as possible matters most, or you're still making up your mind, composite is the more sensible first step. When both materials suit your teeth, your dentist will price them next to each other in your plan.
Questions to Put to Any Practice
Wherever you go for veneers, ask for written answers to these:
- Is the figure for one tooth or a set, and how many teeth does it cover?
- Are these veneers or crowns? A crown takes away far more tooth.
- How much enamel will be removed, and will I see a trial smile beforehand?
- Do design, temporaries, fitting and a review sit within the price?
- Which material is it, and who makes it?
- If a veneer chips or comes away, what happens and what will it cost?
- Is the total fixed before anything starts?

Paying for Treatment: A Fixed Fee First
Your written plan prices every tooth before any enamel is shaped, and once you've agreed it, the total doesn't change, so there are no surprises between the trial smile and the fitting. Payment is due as treatment progresses.
Veneers and bonding sit outside the discount on our dental plans, but members get 10% off most other private treatment. That includes home whitening, at £315 instead of £350, and any fillings or gum treatment the front teeth need before veneers go on.
When Veneers Aren't Needed
Veneers aren't always the right answer. If colour is the only thing that bothers you, home whitening at £350 may do the job by itself. Small chips and uneven edges often need nothing more than edge bonding, at £395 a tooth. Crooked teeth usually do better with straightening: Invisalign starts at £3,250 with whitening and retainers included, and plenty of people decide afterwards that they no longer want veneers. 1
Equally, a single well-matched veneer on one dark or oddly shaped tooth can lift a smile more than you'd think. The consultation is about finding the least treatment that gives you the look you're after.

This guide is general information, not a diagnosis. A dentist needs to examine you to say what is right for your teeth.
